Soap Making!
We had a really GREAT craft club this month at Julie J's. She truly went all out...from the food to her presentation. I have to say, this was the most WELL ORGANIZED one we have had and Julie taught us a lot through her expertise (I know she is blushing right now!)
Soap making is one of those things that seems really simple on the surface. Melt the soap, add stuff and voila! But there is SO much creativity in the middle and I think that surprised a lot of us. Julie did a great job of providing us with a ton of materials to work with. Shea butter soap, clear glycerin soap, avocado and cucumber soap, then the fragrances and essential oils, all the colors you could want, and tons off add ins like sprinkles, rubber duckies, oatmeal, orange peel, etc etc etc.
Some looked like beautiful cupcakes ready to eat and some were elegant and full of aroma.
It was so nice to have a little break from paper crafting! Thank you so much Julie.
On another note we are looking for a JUNE HOSTESS! Woo hoo! Contact me if you'd like to hostess for June.

News and Inspiration!
Hi crafty friends!
We have decided to skip April's Craft Club. We have a hostess for early May so we are going on a brief hiatus to let everyone enjoy April and Easter with loved ones.
I came upon this blog entry and wanted to share it for inspiration for this month's Craft Club, banners. Hopefully it will inspire you, give you some ideas of what you can create!

Craft Club News!
Hi guys!
Craft Club for February is coming up on us soon. PLEASE RSVP yes or no to the evite so that Tia has a count on how many are coming. Let's all make it a priority to RSVP in a timely manner...makes it much easier on our hostesses to prepare.
Also.......we have a hostess for March and that is KIM! Looking forward to it. She will hopefully have a date and project set by Tia's Craft Club.

January Project
You should have received an invite to Vicky's Craft Club, if not, let her or I know and we will make sure you receive it.
We are working with wood this month. They are not exactly blocks, they are pieces of wood in different sizes. Basically like a 2x4, cut up into various sizes but all rectangular or square:
As you can see, they are not the same as the cubes most of us are familiar with. They are not as deep as they are wide/tall.
If you purchase the undecorated wood at Ben Franklin, they are between $4-$5 (which is a bit steep if you want to spell something out). You can get handy with a saw and sander or put the hubby to work! Vicky has also offered for her husband to help with some if you are stuck.
Vicky bought the sample above as is (it was deeply discounted after Christmas) and refinished the blocks.
They can be decorated with pictures, cardstock, paper, embellishments, letters, words etc! Please RSVP soon so Vic knows how many are attending.
